But the English quickly acquired a taste for it too and planted the popular tea in their colonies India and Sri Lanka. W\u003c\/span\u003ehen the cell sap escapes from the leaves, it reacts with the air and an oxidation process begins. Above all, it's important to store the tea \u003cb\u003ecool and airtight\u003c\/b\u003e. But not in the fridge, as moisture can get in there, which can lead to mold. Black tea should also always be kept \u003cb\u003edry and dark\u003c\/b\u003e to prevent the tea leaves from spoiling.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p4\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eOne more little tip\u003c\/em\u003e: it's best \u003ci\u003enot \u003c\/i\u003eto put your tea in the spice rack. The longer the tea steeps, the more intense the taste. In Darjeeling, the number one is awarded to leaves of the highest grade. FTG, short for “Finest Tippy Golden”, means that the tea contains many fine, light-colored tips. The tips are lighter because they contain less cell sap.
